ORANGE COUNTY FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION

The Orange County Firemen’s Association met January 8, 2007 at West Orange City Hall, hosted by the West Orange Fire Dept.  The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President David Jones. Invocation was given by Randy Anding.  The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President David Jones.

The Association welcomed visitors: R.D. Droddy from an Health Insurance Co. and spoke of a supplemental insurance policy.

Meeting adjourned for supper at 7:15 pm

Meeting was called back to order at 7:45 pm

.Approval of Minutes:  Mike Moses moved to accept minutes from November 20th.  David Roberts 2^nd the motion. Motion carried.

Financial Report: James Fisette gave the Financial Report.  The General Account had a total of $3300.77.  Motion was made by Randy Anding to accept the Financial Report. Motion 2^nd by Billy Moore.  Motion carried.

Committee Reports: Discussed changes in the Bylaws for The Association.  Barbara Aldridge was not present to discuss if she has had any feed back from Departments.

Issue was tabled until March 5, 2007.

S.E.T.R.P.C. wants to have a meeting again soon to look at district maps.

Pete Delacruz will contact Elgin and inform Association of meeting date, time and location.

Old Business:  Elgin Browning still looking into an extrication class. Association still in agreement to pay up to $500.00 for the meal for that class.

Briefly discussed Legislative matter of E.S.D.s .  Election of Commissioners may go public after the next session.

New Business:  Nominations for 2007 Officers were taken. Election results are as follows:

NOTE: Let it be known that the following people will be allowed to sign checks from the account of the Orange County Firemen’s Association at Orange Savings Bank:

Each check requires two signatures.

James Fisette said Garner would be coming to discuss an “Orange County Firemen’s Day” at the Fire Training Grounds in Sulphur, LA..  Price would probably  free to Departments.

Troy Landry talked about a Pipe Line drill (table top) coming soon. The date to be announced.

Elgin Browning said there would be an Officer Development Class Feb. 24, 2007 at Little Cypress Fire Station from 8a-4p. Class will be free and lunch will be provided.
