ORANGE COUNTY FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION

Open: The Orange County Firemen’s Association met May 7, 2007 at Bridge City FD #1 Station, hosted by the Bridge City Fire Department.  The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Jerry Ziller. Invocation was given by Randy Anding.  The Pledge of Allegiance was led by J. Ziller.  Visitors were Maria Robinson (MDA) and Jeff Daigle (Garner Environmental).

Meeting adjourned for supper at 7:10 pm

Meeting was called back to order at 7:30 pm

Program:

1.  Ms. Robinson gave a presentation on the MDA Fill-The-Boot campaign and handed out materials.

2. Jeff Daigle gave a program on the Sulpher fire training field.  Proposal to host "Orange County Day" offering a variety of scenarios.  The cost will be minimal.

Approval of Minutes:  J. Fisette moved to accept minutes from March meeting.  Ricky Land 2^nd the motion. Motion carried.

Financial Report: Elgin Browning gave the Financial Report.  The General Account as of 1/31/2007 had a total of $3453.53.  Motion was made by Barbara Aldridge to accept the Financial Report. Motion 2^nd by Ricky Land.  Motion carried.

Committee Reports:

1.  Training Committee to look at dates in November to use Garner Training Facility around November 3rd, 2007

2.  Training Committee - Reminder that A&M Annual School is July 22-27, 2007.  Grant money is avaiable thru the OCFA and the Texas Forest Service.

Old Business:  Discussed adoption in the Bylaws for The Association.  Motion by Ricky Land to accept proposed Bylaws, seconded by R. Anding. 
Motion passed Yes-8, No-2

New Business: 

1.  Buddy Land (OFD) will be attending Save the Firefighter training in Austin.  Should a department wish to receive the class, contact J. Ziller.

2.  All departments and individual members who wish to receive email, updates, etc need to provide email address to Secretary Browning.  Send request to chief1@ocesd3.org
