ORANGE COUNTY FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION

Open: The Orange County Firemen’s Association met July 9, 2007 at Mauriceville FD #1 Station, hosted by the Mauriceville Fire Department.  The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by President Jerry Ziller. Invocation was given by Ricky Land.  The Pledge of Allegiance was led by J. Ziller.  Visitors were Tony Bourgious.

Program: None

Approval of Minutes:  B. Aldridge moved to accept minutes from May meeting.  Ricky Land 2^nd the motion. Motion carried.

Financial Report: Elgin Browning gave the Financial Report.  The General Account as of 7/1/2007 had a total of $3610.85.  Motion was made by Barbara Aldridge to accept the Financial Report. Motion 2^nd by Ricky Land.  Motion carried.

Committee Reports:

1.  Constitution and By-laws: Committee completed task of new document.  A copy with a disc is provided to each department.  Also will be online.  Committee is released and Thanked for hard work.

2.  Fire prevention - No Report.  Barbara advised that she has resources for materials if any departments needs handout materials.

3.  Training Committee to look at dates in November to use Garner Training Facility around January as there was a conflict with the November dates.

4.  Training Committee - Reminder that A&M Annual School is July 22-27, 2007.  Grant money is avaiable thru the OCFA and the Texas Forest Service.

5.  Training committee - Reminder that NIMS training is being required on state and federal level.  There will be classes offered in area.  Contact Mike White (SETRPC) for information on your NIMS status.

6.  The Courage-To-Be-Safe program is avaiable from OFD.  Contact Jerry Ziller to arrange a class.

1.  Jeff Thibodeaux gave a program on the introduction of new power stretchers to be used by Acadian.  AASI will be conducting departments to arrange training sessions.

Mauriceville Fire Department won the mascot.
